KOUKAB AL GHARIBI talked about the geography, history, and people of her native Oman, a sultanate located at the mouth of the Persian Gulf on the Arabian Peninsula.  A registered nurse, Koukab also discussed the health care system in Oman and answered questions from audience members about Omani culture and traditions.  She presented a tempting offering of typical Omani foods.

Koukab Al Gharibi received her nursing training at Sultan Qaboos University near the Omani capital of Muscat.  She was a cardiothoracic nurse and healthcare simulation professor there.  She came to Indiana in 2015 and is now working on a master’s degree in nursing education at Valparaiso University.
