ANA-MARIA HAIDUC was born in the small village of Rus, Romania.  She earned a degree in mathematics at Babes-Bolyai University in her homeland.  Ana-Maria arrived in the USA in 2009.  She and her husband are raising two children.  She has worked as a high school teacher in South Bend and Portage, and last year she taught at Ivy Tech and Purdue.  She is now focusing on her PhD in mathematics education at Purdue University.

Ana-Maria talked about the traditions, people, religion, and schools of Romania.  She presented a comparison between the Communism era and the democracy which began in 1989.  And she shared a delicious array of  homemade Romanian food.
