About Dr. Howell:
Originally from Thailand, Dr. Payear S. Howell has built an extraordinary career that spans continents, industries, and classrooms. She holds a Ph.D. in Management Technology, is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and has earned recognition as a Fellow of Accounting (FAC). With more than 20 years of experience, Dr. Howell has worked extensively in forensic accounting, financial analysis, and auditing, while also helping organizations strengthen policies, internal controls, and digital systems.

For over a decade, she served at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she managed budgets, state appropriations, and university-wide financial systems. She has also worked internationally as a consultant, guiding organizations through digital transformation and process improvements. Beyond her professional career, Dr. Howell has taught and mentored students in the United States, Thailand, and Uzbekistan, reflecting her passion for bridging practice and research.
