OSCAR CASTILLO is a native of Bogota, who began his career as an engineer in Colombia, where he applied geography and mathematics to provide solutions to environmental problems. He was invited to the USA four years ago by Washington State University as a research scholar. Later he moved to Omaha to continue his graduate studies at the University of Nebraska. he and his wife, Katherine Bustamante, came to Northwest Indiana in late 2017. Oscar currently is a Geographic Information Systems Planner at the Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission.
He and Kathy will talk about the traditions and attractions of Colombia, focusing on the natural features and changing times that have presented new possibilities for welcoming visitors.
